As we wrapped up work on The Publishing House class, a reporter from the local Ventura County weekly visited our class. He took photographs and interviewed students. Afterward, he and I sat down and chatted for a while. The reporter is a former student of mine. He seems to be doing very well for himself. I always enjoy reading his articles in the Reporter.
He did make one factual error I would be remiss to ignore. The contest had 140 submissions, not 1000. Students and volunteers at Gorsky Press narrowed the field down to 10, then to 4. The whole class read the top 4 and selected a winner.
Anyway, I think Chris did some fine work with his article. You can read it here.
